Sumibi Yakiniku Tajimaya: Tajimaya Charcoal Grill

One Rockwell’s outdoor strip is turning out to be a very nice place to grab a bite. You’re right next to the mall without actually being in the mall, making it possible to enjoy a quiet dinner before catching a movie.

The handful of restaurants located there include classics such as Apartment 1B, Angel’s Kitchen, and UCC, and the newly opened Tajimaya Charcoal Grill.

Tajimaya’s meat selection ranges from pork belly (P240) to various cuts of Wagyu (P2,000+).

Side dishes are not included in the grill price.  You have to order them separately at P100 per bowl.

Lettuce (P240) and garlic (P180) are likewise not included.

Each table has a charcoal grill.  Although it is smokeless, it is still very, very hot!

We ordered two bowls each of kimchi, greenleaf, and zenmai, which were all delicious and worth ordering!

And two orders of marinated boneless short ribs (P480 per order).

STEP 1: Grill with garlic.

STEP 2: Dip meat in yakiniku sauce.

STEP 3: Place on top of lettuce leaf with kimchi and zenmai.

STEP 4: Top with red sauce.

STEP 5: Roll, eat, repeat!

It was a pretty good dinner!  Although I still prefer Yedang (for the free and refillable side dishes, selection of sauces, and Korean pancake), I also like Tajimaya for the quality meat they use and especially for their fantastic side dishes!  I’ve heard they also have a branch at MOA where they have all-you-eat grilled beef, pork, chicken, and seafood balls for only P480 per person.
