I’ve been wanting to try the new Brasserie Cicou ever since it reopened at OB Montessori in Greenhills, so I was excited when my friend Charlene decided to celebrate her daughter Amelie’s christening with brunch at Cicou.

I fell in love with the place! Absolutely beautiful and charming, yet cozy and casual at the same time. Loved the open kitchen, raw-looking planks on the walls, recycled wine bottle chandeliers, everything.
The food was good, too. My favorites were the classic French onion soup, the Chef Cicou Salad with Foie Gras, the tasty and tender Suckling Pig, the well-executed Coq au Vin sitting atop an aromatic bed of pasta, and the crunchy, flaky, moist, buttery, and absolutely perfect Kouing Aman, served wth salted butter caramel ice cream! What we ate:
Bread Basket
French Onion Soup
Chef Cicou Salad with Foie Gras
Salad with Pork Head Pate and Duck Liver
Roasted Smoked Leg, Shoulder Confit, Vegetables
Sea Bass ala Plancha
Coq au Vin
Suckling Pig Crispy Belly and Ribs
Chocolate Moulluex, Kouing Aman, Macaron
Lavazza Coffee
Funny story with no point to it whatsoever. Our friends Isang and JV were telling us about their home renovations and were sketching out the details. This is Isang’s sketch:
And this is her husband JV’s:
