Valentine’s Tasting Menu at The Goose Station

Valentine’s at The Goose Station, two years in a row.  We had a perfect dinner there last year, and the husband probably figured why mess with a good thing.  John made reservations by late January.

Everything was delicious as always.  I swear, whenever we eat here, our dinner conversation is always peppered with wows.  We seem to remember being served a LOT more food last year though… and I miss my Oreo.

They served champagne as soon as we were seated, and warm bread while we were waiting for our dinner.

Chef Rob’s famous foie gras cone.

“The” chip.

Jamon croqueta.

Mais con yelo.

Caviar parfait – white asparagus panna cotta, crab jelly, tapioca salad with sea urchin and yuzu, caviar, gold dust.

Eggs Benedict – slow-cooked egg, hollandaise foam, truffle oil, bacon tulle.

OMG soooooooo…

Salad of beets and carrots with Davao goat cheese, dalandan gel, cashew nuts, cooked and raw radishes, micro greens.

Scallops with spinach and walnut risotto, whole grain mustard sauce, foie gras cubes, caramelized onions, wild rocket.

Seared foie gras with walnut and mushroom risotto, port jus.

24-Hour Steak with asaparagus, Worcestershire jus, crispy onions, truffle oil, potato puree.

Chocolate candy bar – mousse, ganache, and bisquit, with strawberry puree, berries and cream.

Cute strawberry macaron, but I’m not really a macaron lover.

Butter cookies to take home.

Every single bite of every single thing they put in front of us was delicious.  One of my favorite restaurants ever, and not just in Manila but in all the world.  But I must tell the husband that we’ve eaten here so many times that it’s already expected, and I’m crossing my fingers for something unexpected next year (high maintenance wife).

The restaurant staff seemed to be a lot more efficient this year, last year they had a few problems with timing particularly for the second seating.  Might have something to do with the extra space they’ve expanded into: they now have a small private room that can fit 2-3 couples or one group of 8-10 people.

Regular menu here.
